Our engaging yearlong Women’s Empowerment Program focuses on providing educational tools for the development of indigenous women in practical ways. The program aims to increase confidence, inspire and educate them about topics such as: their legal rights; prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy; to promote a sustainable economy and infrastructures for their household and communities. We work to tackle some of the repeated problems we see regularly affecting indigenous women in Bocas Del Toro; domestic violence, sexual violence, teenage dropouts, teenage pregnancy, and low self-esteem and self- worth. Often being limited by the barriers of society, their families and even the education system; our goal is empower and inspire through consistent education and opportunities.
